Hartfield’s Jingle Bell 5K and Fun Run offers runners a Yule theme

In true Grinch-like fashion, The Grinch did his best to harass passing runners, repeatedly jumping out from behind a tree to try to scare them. Many though, like Ron Myers of Dutton, seemed to take the Grinch antics in stride.

Jalen Wynn, No. 228, pulls into the lead Saturday morning as scores of youngsters surge forward at the start of the children’s fun run, which immediately preceded the Middlesex Family YMCA-benefit Jingle Bell 5K. Watching in the far right background is Y Executive Director Dennis “Buzz” Lambert and Middlesex High School Algebra Teacher C. Clark Laster IV.

Among the big groups of friends (above) attending the race is this one, including, front, from left, Patti Bailey, Debbie Glenn, Lori Grubbs, Beth Really, Chris Grubbs; and back, same order, Ed Brown, Julie Brown, Frosty, Connie Cornwell, Chris Kreynus and Bernie Glenn.
