The Middlesex High School (MHS) wrestling team has five state qualifiers returning on this year’s team. Charger standout grappler Cameron Byers, who finished sixth in his weight class at the State 1A wrestling meet last year, is at the top of that list.

The Chargers have 19 wrestler returnees from last year’s team that won the 2022 Tidewater District championship, finished seventh in Region A and 12th in the 1A state competition as a team.

“We should have a pretty good team this year,” said Anderson. “With the returning talent and new talent coming onboard this year, I think we are looking at a good season.”
