Delicious pigs feet dinners will be available 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the home of Sharon and Amos Ackes at 786 Courthouse Drive in Saluda. The cost is $20 per dinner. Two-piece chicken dinners are also available for $15.

The pigs feet event is a fundraiser for Zion Branch Baptist Church in Saluda, which plans to use the proceeds for church renovations, including adding a foyer.

Lower United Methodist Church (LUMC) at 120 Lower Church Road, Hartfield, invites everyone to join them in person at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday for the Rev. Yosub Namgung’s sermon, “Up To Restoration.”  Lower UMC is serving as a drop-off point for the Toys for Tots toy drive for the Middlesex County-area children. The last date to donate will be Dec. 15.

You’re also invited to participate in LUMC’s Angel Tree ministry. Angel tags are on the tree in the LUMC Fellowship Hall. Take a tag, shop with joy, then return wrapped gifts by Sunday, Dec. 11.

The LUMC Cinderella Project ministry collects items requested by Middlesex County public school nurses.  For a list of items you can donate, see the website at lowerumc.org.


The Male Chorus of Union Shiloh Baptist Church of Laneview invites you to come and share an evening of song and prayer on Sunday, Nov. 27, at 3 p.m. They are looking to have a great time.


Harmony Grove Baptist Church (HGBC) will welcome Santa Claus and his friends at a free breakfast of pancakes, sausage links with beverage on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

HGBC is located at 7722 General Puller Highway in Harmony Village. In order to get an accurate number of attendees, call 804-758-5154, email secretaryharmonygrove@metrocast.net or register online.

The church is serving as a collection point for Middlesex County Toys For Tots drive, so if possible, donate new, unwrapped toys only. All toys go to Middlesex Social Services for distribution locally. The collection deadline is Dec. 15.

Zion Hill Baptist Church, 10256 Indian Road, Gloucester, will have an in-person worship service on Sunday, Nov. 27, at 11 a.m. Pastor Eugene Comithier II will preach and the Inspirational Voices will sing.

All attendees must agree to contact tracing and temperature checks, as well as wear face masks.

In-person Sunday school is set for 9:45 a.m. on Sundays.
