Charger girls fall in state quarterfinals

The good news is the Middlesex High School (MHS) volleyball team is one of the top eight teams in the State Class 1 division. However, the season ended for the Lady Chargers on Saturday with a loss in the quarterfinals of the State Class 1 tournament at Rappahannock County High School in Washington, Virginia.
This year the Lady Chargers were undefeated in Tidewater District finishing in first place and won the Tidewater District Tournament. Middlesex lost to Rappahannock of Warsaw in finals of the Region 1A Tournament.
“The team progressed really well all year,” said Lady Charger Coach Walton. “It was a totally different team at the end of year compared to beginning of the year.”
Although the Lady Chargers will lose six seniors to graduation, the team is deep with talent. “The outlook for next year is very high,” said Coach Walton…
