William J. “Billy” Coyle was installed as the 17th head of Christchurch School at St. Peter’s Chapel on the school’s campus last month. The Episcopal service, led by the Rt. Rev. Susan Ellyn Goff, also included rededication of the newly restored/renovated St. Peter’s.
Coyle is the first head of the school’s second century. He was preceded by Jeb Byers, who was at Christchurch for 32 years, and served as head of school for 21 years.
Christchurch School is one of six schools in the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, which also includes St. Margaret’s School (Tappahannock), Stuart Hall (Staunton), St. Christopher’s School (Richmond), St. Catherine’s School (Richmond) and St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes (Alexandria).
