Museums Of Middlesex reps will be at Oyster Festival

During the Nov. 4 and 5 Urbanna Oyster Festival, history awaits at the Urbanna waterfront — folks can board the square-rigged tall ship Godspeed, a replica of one of the three ships on the 1606-1607 voyage that resulted in the founding of Jamestown.  (Contributed)

The Museums Of Middlesex, is an LLC formed in 2015 of four foundations and museums in Middlesex County to work together increasing our tourism visibility and acquainting everyone with Middlesex’s rich history and maritime heritage. During this week’s Urbanna Oyster Festival, Museums of Middlesx’s banner, table and the Deltaville Maritime Museum’s “Explorer” will be located right on the Urbanna waterfront near the tall ships Luna and Godspeed.

The four partnering museums and foundations are the Middlesex County Museum and Historical Society in Saluda, the Urbanna Museum in Urbanna, and the Colonial Seaport Foundation and the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park in Deltaville. Information and brochures of all four groups will be available at the info table located at the Urbanna Town Marina.
