Harry Lee Gilbert, 83, of Hardyville died at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022.
Harry was born on Feb. 1, 1939, to the late Elbert and Pauline Gilbert.
Harry proudly served in the United States Air Force working in avionics. He finished his military career serving in the Air National Guard.
He had a love for farming and construction and worked many years in partnership with his brother running Gilbert Brothers.
He actively served many years as a member of the Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (LMVFD) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Thomas B. Gilbert.
Harry is survived by his wife, Linda Gilbert; his children, Raymond Gilbert, Lydia Gilbert, and Wayne Gilbert (Rebekah); grandchildren, Austin Lucas, Kendall Lucas, Ray Gilbert; and step-grandchildren, William Headley, Kody King, and Joel Rawles; and his sister, Pamela Forrest (Marshall).
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 11 a.m.-noon at Harmony Grove Baptist Church, with a service beginning at noon to be officiated by Dr. Barbara Filling and Rev. Edward Harrow. Burial with military honors will follow at Windsor Gardens Cemetery. The family invites friends to return to the church fellowship hall for a reception after the burial.
