The Middlesex High School (MHS) Charger football team (3-4, 1-1) earned a 33-2 victory over Charles City (0-6, 0-2) in a Tidewater District Conference away game Friday night.
The Chargers had a strong defensive showing and held the Panthers to just 2 points on a defensive safety. Byers paced the defense with 15 tackles, three assists and he intercepted a Panther pass.
The Chargers were scheduled to play the Eastern Shore Northampton High School football team Monday, Oct. 17, but that gridiron matchup was canceled due to bad weather.
Middlesex has a bye this Friday, Oct. 21. The Chargers will next take on the King and Queen Central Royal Tigers (5-1, 0-0) in Friday, Oct. 28…
