by Tom Chillemi –
Middlesex High School’s (MHS) annual homecoming parade is set for 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in Saluda, MHS Principal Susan Fleet told the Sentinel last week. Scores are expected to line the route to watch multiple entries carrying 2022-2023 homecoming royalty and representing various school groups. Some members of the MHS Marching Band are also expected. Charger fans are encouraged to come out.
During the parade, from approximately 5:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, General Puller Highway from Gloucester Road to MHS will be closed to regular vehicle traffic.

Gates open at 6 p.m. for the homecoming football game, which will feature Middlesex (2-3, 0-0) versus the West Point Pointers (4-2, 0-0). The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. The homecoming queen and king will be crowned at halftime, following the presentation of the homecoming court.
