The Middlesex High School (MHS) Charger football game against the Northumberland Indians was postponed Friday, Sept. 30, due to weather conditions caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ian. School officials had not publicly announced the rescheduled date as of the Sentinel’s press time.
The storm hit this area on Friday night, bringing 55 mph wind gusts and dropping four-and-a-half inches of rain on the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula.
The MHS Chargers (2-3, 0-0) were scheduled to travel to Northumberland to take on the Indians (3-1, 1-0) in Heathsville.
MHS will present its annual homecoming Friday night, Oct. 7. The Chargers will take on the West Point Pointers at the Syd Thrift Athletic Complex in Saluda. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
West Point is a Tidewater District foe of Middlesex and has a (4-2, 0-0) record. The Pointers only losses came at the hands of Bruton and Westmoreland.
