Born on Aug. 23, 1943, Glenda Sargent Brooks left to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022.
She was predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Avenell Sargent; sister, Phyllis; and brother, Glenn.
She is survived by her husband, Robert (Rob) Brooks; her sister, Peggy Sargent; son, Jon Bernstein; grandchildren, Kaelan, Madison, Caleb, and Skyler Bernstein; and great-grandson, Kai Wilson (Kaelan).
Glenda loved to travel — Myrtle Beach, S.C. every September, across the U.S., trips to Europe, and several terrific cruises. A member of Lower United Methodist Church, she was active in the children’s church program. President of Middlesex Title Company, she closed on numerous homes, and made many friends. In her real estate role, she served on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Land Title Association for many years, and then as president. For more than a decade she volunteered as an EMT with the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad in Deltaville. A qualified paralegal, she was often her husband’s right hand. Her great love was her grand (and great) children. Warm, friendly, and outgoing, she will be sadly missed. Rest in peace.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield.
