Tickets are now available for the Middlesex County Museum and Historical Society’s Celebrating Preservation fundraiser. The annual event is set for 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Historic Barn at Rosegill at 1824 Urbanna Road near Urbanna.

Highlighting the event will be the presentation of the Middlesex Preservation award to Fred and Bettie Lee Gaskins. The Gaskinses have supported the writing and reporting of Middlesex County history through their many years publishing the Southside Sentinel.

Celebrating Preservation will have an Oktoberfest theme and feature grilled bratwurst, potato salad, beer, wine and a cash bar, as well as an antique car show and live folk music by Clayton Neal, reports Middlesex County Museum and Historical Society Board of Directors President Marilyn South.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at Bristow’s Store or Low Tide in Urbanna, Salon By the Bay in Hartfield and Nauti Nell’s in Deltaville. They are also available online. Tickets are limited and Monday, Oct. 10, is the last day to buy advance tickets.
