The Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews received a financial gift recently from the Michael Servetus Endowment Fund of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock (UUFR) in White Stone.
The Servetus fund supports and sponsors local community cultural and educational programs, including annual post-secondary scholarships for area students.
Celane Roden of Saluda, representing UUFR and the Servetus Fund, delivered the gift to Pam Doss, director of the Bay School arts center.
“We have been very impressed by the myriad of art experiences offered to kids in the multi-county area by the Bay School,” Roden said. “Their programs were especially notable during the pandemic, when they offered COVID-19 safe art packets, so kids could remain engaged in art at home.”
