The Dragon Run wilderness is a unique ecosystem, stretching for almost 40 miles on the Middle Peninsula, from the Piankatank River to the town limits of Tappahannock. Its pristine environs are frequently described by visitors as “another world” and harbors many rarely-seen species.
The Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) system will be hosting a presentation about Dragon Run on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at MCPL’s Urbanna branch library. The talk and slideshow will be given by Jeff Wright, president of the Friends of Dragon Run and a tour guide on the group’s paddle trips. Light refreshments will follow.
The presentation will address the importance of the Dragon Run and the compelling need to preserve, protect, and encourage the wise use of it and its watershed.
