MHS golfers play in Hartfield twice next week

The Middlesex High School Charger golf team is 3-1 with its only loss coming against Lancaster by one point.

On Aug. 15, Middlesex, with a score of 176, defeated Rappahannock (215) and Essex (235) in a tri-match at the Chargers home course — Piankatank River Golf Club (PRGC) in Hartfield. Middlesex’s Peyton Lambert shot a 41, tying Essex’s Hunter Byrd for low score of the match.

On Aug. 17, Middlesex defeated Northumberland 171-195, as Peyton Lambert shot another match low score 37, which is one over par at the Indian Creek Country Club. Also for Middlesex, Garrison Robins finished with a 42; Hudson McMinn, 44; Nielson McMinn, 48; Able Crader, 49; and Cole Glasco, 60.

Middlesex hosts Mathews on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 4 p.m. at PRGC; and is at West Point on Monday, Sept. 12, at 4 p.m.; and winds up the regular season at King William on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m.
