National Lemonade Day is set for Saturday, Aug. 20, and the children of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock Church (UUFR) in White Stone will have a four-hour presence selling lemonade and cookies outside of Tri-Star Supermarket in Kilmarnock.

They are raising money for an area cause that, they believe, everyone can care about: the forthcoming no-kill animal shelter planned by Northern Neck Partners for Pets (NNPP).

They already have raised $207 toward their project, a result of their first-ever lemonade stand after their church’s service on Sunday, Aug. 7.

The UUFR children will repeat their lemonade-stand effort between 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at 81 Irvington Road in Kilmarnock. All donations will go toward the no-kill shelter…
