Dist. 1 hopefuls Jones, Wittman to speak at picnic

U.S. Rep. Robert Wittman, R-1st Dist., incumbent, and Democratic challenger Herb Jones, will speak at the Northern Neck Chapter 1823 National Active and Retired Federal Employees’ (NARFE) annual fall picnic on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The picnic will begin at noon and be at the Humphreys Shelter (Shelter I) in Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster. (The park has a $5 parking fee.)

Current, former and retired federal employees, spouses and survivor annuitants are invited to attend. The chapter will provide sausages, hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages.

Attendees are requested to bring a salad or side dish (last names starting with A-M) or a dessert (last names starting with N–Z).
