Three Middlesex High School varsity volleyball players who attended a University of Virginia (UVa) college prep camp on UVa’s Charlottesville campus last week, made the camp’s All-Star team.

Rising sophomore Lady Chargers Hailey Bruce, Addison Heasley and Karlie Morris were chosen from 130 participants to play in the 16-member All-Star game during the closing ceremony.

During the week the athletes had refined their volleyball skills working on serving, defense, passing, offsetting, platform placement and slides (hitting) just to name a few. The 130 camp participants from around the country trained with the UVa college volleyball team in small groups.

On the last day of camp each team picked their best athletes who had performed well and had given it their all to play in the All-Star game.

MHS volleyball practice will begin Aug. 1. Brian Walton will again be head coach.
