Urbanna Oyster Festival queen contestant, Sara Hale, and her Little Miss Spat co-contestant, Piper Gill, will host a bake sale set for 7 p.m. this Saturday, July 30, at the Deltaville Deltas baseball game at Deltaville Ballpark.
During the game, Piper will throw the ceremonial first pitch at 7:30 p.m. All baked goods will have a listed price or can be traded for gently used books. All money raised will go to the Middlesex County Public Library and all books received will be donated to the “little free libraries” in the community.
Sara and Piper’s community service project is all about early childhood literacy and inspiring the love of reading. Both Sara and Piper have a passion and love of reading and hope to pass that on to others. They also strive to give back to the children who lost precious developmental time with the COVID-19 pandemic. It is their hope to help provide the resources necessary for these children to discover the magic of reading.
