Push to expand Urbanna advances

MC supervisors vote 4-1 to add 26 acres of land to town

by Tom Chillemi –

On July 12, the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 to direct the county attorney to work with the Town of Urbanna regarding the town’s request for a voluntary boundary adjustment on the west side of town.

Harmony Village District Supervisor Reggie Williams cast the only dissenting vote. Voting in favor of moving forward to study the 26-acre expansion proposal were supervisors Wayne Jessie, Don Harris, John Koontz and Chairman Lud Kimbrough.

The parcels that the town council would like to make part of Urbanna are located on Virginia Street, Waverley Road and Red Hill Drive.
