This weekend is the 11th Deltaville 5K and Kids Fun Run starting at the Deltaville Community Association (DCA) building Saturday at 7:15 a.m. for the Kids Fun Run and immediately after the 5K will begin. Walk up registration will be open.
Fun times will return
The Fourth is rather quiet around Deltaville. We used to have fireworks and a wonderful day of events and vendors at the DCA building. Times changed with regulations.COVID-19 has also been a factor, but eventually we will get back to fun times if we can just get rid of COVID-19.
Development bearing down
We are living through the evolution of Deltaville. And I’m not sure I like it. Municipal water will not make a big difference, except that our water won’t be orange coming out of the faucet. But sewage is right behind it and while it will be safer to live here and the creeks will be safer, it means so much land will open up to development. A difficult conundrum if ever there was one. We want Deltaville to stay the way it is and we want all the advantages that come with evolution.
