The Celebrate Light community youth group is set to meet 6-8 p.m. this Friday, June 24, at the Middlesex County Skateboard Park, which is immediately north of the Middlesex Pet Friends for Life (MPFL) Dog Park near 2784 General Puller Highway in Cooks Corner. The outdoor event is being hosted by the Middlesex County Parks and Recreation Department, headed by Coordinator Karen Reed, and it will start with a performance of the youth praise band, One Headlight, according to the Rev. Aaron Wells, band coordinator and pastor of Pure Life Church.v
In addition to the band, refreshments, including snow cones, will be provided by Middlesex County Kiwanis Club members and creative activities at three different stations are planned for the evening, which begins with an icebreaker game. Each station’s activities will last 20 minutes and youth will be rotated through each of them, which will feature skateboarding skills, dog walking techniques demonstrations, along with information about volunteering at the MPFL Dog Park and beautification of parks and gardens to enhance the environment.
The evening will conclude with a devotional by the Rev. Wells.
Registration starts at 5:45 p.m. at the skateboard park. It is open to any student in middle school or high school.
