Effie Elizabeth Weston Ward was gathered into the arms of her Jesus on Saturday, June 4, 2022. She passed away quietly at Heron Cove in Gloucester, while receiving medical care for her long journey with dementia.
Effie Elizabeth Weston Ward was born on March 4, 1932 to her parents Johnny and Molly Weston in Deltaville. She would be the fourth child of a family that eventually gave her six siblings. It is from this family of nine that Effie’s loving, caring and humorous nature flourished for 90 years.
She had been a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church and White Stone United Methodist Church. During her membership and fellowship with the Methodist Church, she was active in Bible study and found her love for the scriptures. She had returned to her childhood church, Philippi Christian Church, where she raised her children.
Effie also flourished with creativity as a homemaker. She had developed and inherited talents for cooking from her mother and sisters. From cooking mom’s love for interior design was born and she became a natural!
