Little has been spared in Ukraine. Houses, apartments, churches and hospitals have been bombed and damaged by Russian troops. Many are horrified by what is seen on TVs or through social media. Cities are destroyed, lives are upended and lives have been lost.
Understandably, it feels as though little can be done from one’s home in the United States, but it is possible to do something and make a difference in the lives of the Ukrainian people.
One way is to join the community for a free benefit concert set for 4 p.m. Sunday, June 5, in the sanctuary of Urbanna United Methodist Church at 221 Marston Ave. in Urbanna. The concert will feature three local bands with wide appeal.
The concert is free to all and donations will be welcomed. One-hundred percent of the donations will go to three charities that are supporting the Ukrainian people:
- Samaritan’s Purse
- United Methodist Committee on Relief
- UNICEF
