Urbanna resident Larry Autry (left) made a hole in one on hole number 14 at 60 yards with a sand wedge at Piankatank River Golf Club (PRGC). With Autry witnessing the March 20 shot were Joe Sibley and Blake Sibley. Cobbs Creek resident John McCormack (right) points to a golf ball resting on the cup rim during a recent PRGC outing. McCormack is smiling because although the ball was not completely in the cup it was “in the hole,” according to official golf rules (Rule 13.2c). Resultingly, it was McCormack’s second hole in one in a month and his fifth career ace. He made it at 94 yards using a pitching wedge while playing March 18 on the Hartfield course with Scott Kalbrener, Ed Conner and George Cummings.
