Ward’s Landscaping, Clas Corp victors in youth basketball action

Ward’s Landscaping won the junior division champion-ship, 20-13, against Parlett’s Painting, and Clas Corp beat Middlesex Parks and Recreation Department, 60-33, in the senior division championship on Saturday in Middlesex County Parks and Recreation Department Youth League championship action at Middlesex High School.

Ward’s Landscaping defeated Parlett’s Painting, 20-13, and was paced by Elroy Delancy Jr., who scored 8 points in the game. Ryian Ward had 6 points; and Amya Kidd, Makayla Bryant and Brielle Jones all had 2 points apiece.

Parlett’s Painting was paced by Shamar King who scored 6 points in the game. Taicyn Parlett, Jasper Smith Jr. and Jeremiah Sheppard had 2 points each and Kiara Hurling scored, 1 point.

In the senior league championship, Clas Corp ran away with the game, 60-33, racing up and down the floor on offense and defense. Clas Corp was coached by Kelvin Reed.

Clas Corp was paced by Harmony Young and Brandon Jones Jr., who scored 42 points between the two. Young and Jones had 21 points apiece.

Dereon Cooke scored 8 points; Jamar Hammond and Dominic Madison, 4 points each; and Cayden McDearmon contributed 2 points in the championship victory.

The Middlesex Parks and Rec (MPR) team was coached by Maurice Ackes and Antonio Bagby. MPR was paced by Devante Griffin who tallied 11 points. Syion Jones scored 8 points; Kevin Turner, 7; Tarjah Key, 4; Victor Reyes, 2; and Garret Shackelford, 1 point.
