Take time to stop and talk to visiting Deltaville boaters

by T.D. Harris –

The week started off with the end of February and good bye to February. I, for one, have had it with winter. It just hasn’t been pretty. It seemed like the pandemic all over again. Wait, it was.

Boaters returning

The boaters on their way home are beginning to come into the marinas. It is interesting to talk to the people and hear of their adventures.

Eve and John have sailed from Oregon. Think about that. How did they get through? Did they go around? Portage? Or find a passage.

Learning about the United States through sailors is what it is all about. They are on their way to Maine after getting their boat overhauled. Take the time to stop and talk to our visitors. Hear the adventures.

Delta Pie so nice

It’s nice to have ready-to-go meals for two from Delta Pie. Meatloaf for two one night and something that looks like “mac and cheese,” but called “bogatelli” just to make it sound like something “la de da.” It had shrimp in it and another kind of noodle and from all the rave reviews will be something to try next time. It is so nice to be exposed to almost familiar dishes with a different name.

Russia’s jealousy troubling

Yesterday was the beginning of Lent — the high holy days for Christians. A time to remember the sacrifice made for all of us. And ever on our minds are what the Ukrainians are suffering. It just seems so surreal that it is happening. Surely any country with as much as Russia has would be satisfied. What is jealousy but wanting something someone else has? I have a friend that says “When is too much not enough?” Seems like a constant struggle between good and evil. Unfortunately, evil seems to live among us.
