The Middlesex High School (MHS) boys basketball team (13-4, 8-2) picked up three more wins last week and a loss to West Point as the Pointers defeated the Chargers, 66-40, in Tidewater Conference action.

MHS defeated the Northumberland Indians, 74-44, on Feb. 8 at home in a non-conference game. The Chargers also won two conference games beating Carver Academy on Feb. 10, 56-50 and Mathews Blue Devils, 81-60, on Feb 7.

Middlesex has dominated home court this season as MHS is 9-1 against teams in the John Clements Memorial Gymnasium and 4-3 on away courts. MHS’s only home loss came at the hands of the 19-1 Lancaster Red Devils. The Chargers have an impressive 77% win-loss percentage record.

Middlesex’s 8-2 conference win-loss record places the Chargers in second place behind 10-1 West Point in conference standings…
