Open in Waverly Commons Feb. 1

Thursday, Jan. 27, could be the last Urbanna Town Council meeting on the second floor of the town hall for a while.
The Town of Urbanna is moving its offices temporarily to Waverly Commons, located on Old Virginia Street, just west of the town limits and near the Urbanna firehouse. The new location is scheduled to open on Tuesday, Feb. 1, Town Administrator Garth Wheeler told council at its Jan. 13 meeting. The current town hall will be closed on Friday, Jan. 28, and Monday, Jan. 31, while the office is being moved.
In November 2021, council voted to lease for up to two years space at the office complex that is also occupied by Bay Aging. The town’s lease cost is about $40,000 per year.
