The Urbanna Town Council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 13, on the second floor of the town hall at 45 Cross St.
On the agenda is a public hearing on the town’s intention to file an application with the USDA Rural Development for financial assistance to construct a new water well and associated pumping and monitoring equipment to supply the town’s existing water distribution system.
On the agenda under old business is the proposed pier for the end of Virginia Street. For years, town residents, and now council members, have been divided on the need for a dock which would be located about 75 yards from the Town of Urbanna Marina.
In an unrelated matter, the agenda includes a closed session so council can discuss building a new community swimming pool in Taber Park.
