MHS HOOP GIRLS NOTCH FIRST WIN

The Middlesex High School girls varsity basketball team secured its first win of the season, defeating Northumberland 47-27 on Monday, Jan. 10, in a regional home game. “It was a true team effort and we had much success working as a complete unit,” said Lady Charger Head Coach Neil Wake.

The game was very competitive early and Northumberland took a brief lead. However, the Lady Chargers hit a spurt late in the first quarter and opened up an 11-point lead taking a 24-13 advantage to the locker room at the half.

The Lady Chargers continued their stellar play throughout the second half and built a 20-point margin for a 47-27 victory.  “This was a much needed win and we coaches hope this will get the team to focus more as the season progresses,” said Coach Wake…
