Outgoing Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (LMVFD) Chief Jimmy Walden (above) displays the recognition plaque he received for his 30 years of service as the Deltaville-based fire chief and 40 years total as a firefighter in Deltaville. The plaque presentation highlighted the annual LMVFD banquet Saturday night at the Deltaville firehouse. Although Walden is stepping down as chief, he will continue serving as a Deltaville firefighter. LMVFD Auxiliary member Lill Fahnestock (right) shows off an auxiliary $25,000 check donation to LMVFD during the banquet. The 2022 donation is the auxiliary’s largest donation ever to LMVFD. The auxiliary also presented its $8,000 check donation from the previous year. That donation was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (Photo by Don Richeson)
