The Middlesex High School (MHS) varsity boys basketball team won its first game of the season, 72-50, against the Rappahannock Raiders on Monday night.

The Raiders came back from a 20-6 score in the first quarter to a 28-26 one in favor of Middlesex at halftime. Middlesex, however, exploded in the second half when the Raiders decided they would attempt to run the floor with the Chargers.

The Chargers will travel to play Northumberland on Tuesday, Dec. 7, and will travel to Rappahannock to take on the Raiders again on Friday. Dec. 10.
