Community can try out renovated Middlesex High School courts and practice wall on the weekends and after 5 p.m. on weekdays
by Don Richeson –
Middlesex County Public Schools recently had Middlesex High School’s (MHS) tennis courts resurfaced and new nets added. Additionally, pickleball lines were added to two of the four MHS courts in hopes the community could get some more use out of the courts.
Pickleball may be unfamiliar to some racket sports enthusiasts, but it is growing in popularity. Its advantages include being easier than tennis for beginners to pick up. It combines elements of badminton, table tennis and tennis. In pickleball, two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated plastic ball, much like a wiffle ball.
The courts are available for the public to use after 5 p.m. weekdays and dawn to dusk on the weekends, MHS Head Tennis Coach Matt Short told the Sentinel.
