Lindsay Gregory was attending her first Urbanna Oyster Festival on Friday, Nov. 5, with her boyfriend Mike Jones, who’d been to many festivals since the 1980s.
Jones, a visitor from Illinois, had planned a surprise. After the band Sweet Justice played “Rock of Ages”, the lead singer wanted to dedicate the next song to the couple and called Gregory and Jones to Taber Park’s Festival Village stage.
Then it happened. As members of Sweet Justice watched in the background on the stage, along with the hundreds out in the audience, Jones got down on one knee and asked Gregory to marry him.
She said, “Yes”!
