The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors (MCBS) voted on Wednesday, Nov. 3, to appropriate funds of $126,860 for a “base bid” from Parsley’s Siteworks LLC of Saluda to create a nature trail on county-owned property north of (behind) the Cooks Corner Office Complex on General Puller Highway (Route 33) at Cooks Corner.
The base bid is to create a basic trail. However, there could be an additional $127,801 involved in the project if the board decides to build wetland bridges and provide expanded parking space.
This also does not include the price for creating a proposed African-American heritage trail with signage interpreting Black history in Middlesex County.
