Judy L. South, 53, of West Point died Monday, Oct. 25, 2021.
She worked 31 years at Citizens and Farmers Bank and during that time earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees at Old Dominion University. In recent years, Judy was a teacher at King & Queen Elementary School and was selected as its 2020 Teacher of the Year. She loved her family, her students, and greatly enjoyed singing in church.
Judy was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Russell South; and her grandparents, Monroe and Mildred Hall, and Freeman and Ruth Lowney.
Judy is survived by her husband of 28 years, Rex South; her children, Jordan and Cameron South; parents, Betty and Michael Lowney; a brother, Michael Lowney (Angie); mother-in-law, Mildred South; a special nephew, Devon Lowney; and many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th St., West Point, with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Saluda.
