About 70 citizens turned out for a Middlesex County candidates’ forum at St. Clare Walker Middle School on Oct. 19 and others viewed it live online.

All Middlesex candidates for Hartfield and Saluda districts school board and board of supervisors seats participated in the forum.

The forum was sponsored jointly by the Middlesex Chapter of the NAACP, the Middlesex Kiwanis, Middlesex Lions, and Middlesex Rotary.

Middlesex Commonwealth’s Attorney Michael Hurd served as moderator. Dawn Moore, president of the Middlesex Chapter of the NAACP, was emcee.

Those who are opposed in the election made opening statements and fielded questions that had been prepared in advance.
