Hodges gets four kills in each of first two games of new season
by Tom Chillemi –
The Middlesex High School varsity Lady Charger volleyball team opened its season on Aug. 24 losing at Northern Neck powerhouse Rappahannock in three sets.
Returning hitter Ella Hodges led the Lady Chargers with four kills and one block. Emma Oliver, another returning player, had seven assists and one ace.
On Aug. 26, Middlesex lost to visiting Lancaster 0-3. It was the same story as the first game, said Coach Walton. “Again I saw several things that we were doing right but still way too many beginner errors,” Walton said. “We know we are young and we are building confidence every game. We will do nothing but get better and better as this season goes on!”
