Chargers will take on arch-rival Mathews at Syd Thrift complex

The Middlesex High School (MHS) Charger 2021-2022 football team opens its regular season on Friday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. at home against longtime arch-rival the Mathews High School Blue Devils.

There was no 2020-2021 MHS football season as COVID-19 kept the Chargers and many other high school football teams in the United States off the gridiron.

“We have a great group of athletes with a great coaching staff,” said new head football coach Joel Anderson. “Our focus right now is accountability, good character, teamwork, work ethic, and dedication.

“With last season being canceled due to COVID-19, we are enjoying every second we can to be with the team. The players and coaches are eager…”
