As Deltaville’s Kenzie Wynne-Ewell sat on the beach at Kitty Hawk, N.C., she had a feeling something was about to happen.
The vacationing 11 year old had been sitting with her cousin last week watching a young boy standing where ocean waves broke around him. Kenzie told her cousin she was worried about him, said Kenzie’s mother Catherine Wynne.
“I’ve always taught her about the ocean and how to be careful,” said Ms. Wynne. “So she’s good about keeping her eyes open for danger.”
Then it happened. Kenzie watched as a big wave knocked over the young boy….
