2021-2022 MIDDLESEX SCHOOL BUS ROUTES

During a special ceremony in January, one of two new electric school buses for Middlesex County was plugged in for the first time to the charging station at St. Clare Walker Middle School. Ceremony participants included, from left, Middlesex Board of Supervisors Harmony Village Representative Reggie Williams, Middlesex High School freshman Charlie Roley, Middlesex School Board Chairman Claudia Soucek and Vice Chairman Richard Shores. Electric school buses have a range of approximately 100 to 135 miles and to fully charge one takes about three to four hours. Although electric school buses cost about $325,000 apiece — more than three times the cost of a traditional diesel bus — officials say they are much cheaper to operate and will save the county about $700 a month.
