Deltas remain unbeaten

The Deltaville Deltas powered past the Heathsville Hurricanes 16-0 on Sunday, July 11, after playing to a disappointing 7-7 tie against likewise undefeated Richmond Team Woody on Saturday.

The Deltas improved to 10-0-1 on the season, with an 8-0-1 league mark, and maintain a solid grip on first place in the Richmond NABA eastern division standings. Team Woody defeated the Richmond Braves by the score of 15-0 on Sunday, and hold a 7-0-1 league record and one and a half game lead on defending league champion Richmond El Heaters in the western division.

On Saturday night, the El Heaters (5-1) will be coming to Deltaville Ballpark for a showdown with the Deltas. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Deltas 7, Team Woody 7

Baseball is not meant to end in a tie. Unfortunately, league rules stipulate that no new inning of a regular season game can begin after three hours of play. That time limit came into affect on Saturday night, as the two top teams in Richmond NABA battled to a tie, and no more innings could be played to settle the game.

Team Woody struck first….
