Following a two-day jury trial in Middlesex County Circuit Court, Jimmy Elias Bristow of Wake was found guilty of 20 counts of sex crimes involving minors. The jury of six men and six women recommended Bristow, 76, be sentenced to 40 years and fined $30,000.
Bristow, who had been free on bail since he was charged in August 2019, was remanded into custody and taken to jail following the jury’s guilty verdict on Tuesday, June 29, by Judge Jeffrey Shaw.
The jury recommended a one-year sentence on each of the 10 counts of taking indecent liberties with a child (a total of 10 years).
The jury also recommended a sentence of three years and a $10,000 fine on each of the three counts of aggravated sexual battery involving a minor…
