Alverta Carey Wake, 71, of Urbanna departed this life on Monday, June 28, 2021 in a Washington, D.C., hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Herman Wake Jr.; two daughters, Tryphena Gray of White Plains, Md., and Anna Lisa Wake of Newport News; and four sons, Xavier Carey of Richmond, Jimmy Wake of Maryland, Herman Wake III of Newport News and Jason Wake of Saluda.
The viewings will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Washington Funeral Home, 1404 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Calvary Baptist Church, 397 General Puller Highway, Saluda, where the funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. The interment will be at Grafton Baptist Church, 425 Grafton Church Road, Hartfield.
