Oyster Fest Queen-Little Miss Spat hopefuls announce fundraisers

Kendall Lucas and Caroline Entsminger

Kendall Lucas and Caroline Entsminger have some exciting news for the community. They are competitors in this year’s Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen and Spat Competition and are seeking support for their fundraiser project. They are offering a baked goods sale and osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) information session on Saturday, June 26, at the Deltaville Flea Market at 16395 General Puller Highway. “This year our focus is spreading information about osteogenesis imperfecta, also known as brittle bone disease,” Queen contestant Kendall said. Little Miss Spat contestant Caroline is one of the few children affected by this rare disease.

Kendall and Caroline will have another baked goods sale on Thursday, July 22, at the Urbanna Second Hand Thrift Shop and will also be offering face painting July 2 during the Independence Day-themed activities at the Urbanna Town Marina.

Then finally, there will be a free, all-ages eye screening and back-to-school kick off on Saturday, Aug. 7 at Saluda Baptist Church.

At each event they will have a 50/50 raffle, where tickets are $1 each…
