Team falls in region semi-final, finishes season with 7-2 record

The Middlesex High School (MHS) varsity boys soccer team won in the quarterfinals of the Region A soccer tournament but lost to the Washington and Lee (W&L) Generals in the semi-finals.
On Monday, June 14, anchored by two second half goals, Middlesex defeated the West Point Pointers 2-0 at Middlesex High School.
The Chargers, who were short on players due to injury and vacation, fielded an inexperienced line-up against a hungry West Point team.
“This is the third time this season we played West Point,” said MHS Head Coach Macky Hall. “It was a bit of a trap game since we’d convincingly beat them both times and we were short on players. They arrived to play and we didn’t.”
The Chargers started the game with several uncharacteristic mistakes in possession that gave the ball to West Point deep in the Middlesex end…
