Lee Jeanette Armstead, 100, of Middlesex County, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 16, 2021 at the Riverside Convalescent Center in Mathews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jessie Steuer; her husband, Marvin B. Armstead; siblings, Maggie Stevens, Vernelle Foster, Nellie Foster, Elwood Steuer; and her son-in-law, Stephen Brownley. Survivors include her daughter, Violet Brownley; grandaughter, Katrina Ottinger (Jason); great-granddaughter, Haven; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jeanette was a member of Lower United Methodist Church, where she was custodian for more than 37 years. She enjoyed helping to prepare meals for the United Methodist Men’s suppers. Jeanette has fixed many fruit baskets, baked cakes, and cooked meals for the sick. She loved helping others, spending time with her family, gardening, and fishing.
The family thanks the nurses and staff at RCC Mathews and hospice staff for their love and care for Jeanette.
Visitation was 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 19 in Lower United Methodist Church, Hartfield, with an 11 a.m. funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lower United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda.
