Henry Vann Holland Sr., 71, of Wake passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 from a long and valiant fight with Parkinson’s Disease. He was surrounded by loved ones as he peacefully transitioned from this life to the next.
Vann was born on July 27, 1949 in Wayne County, N.C. to Johnny and Lucille Holland. After several moves in his childhood, he graduated from James Blair High School in Williamsburg. After meeting and marrying the love of his life, Sherry A. Jones, they settled in Wake in 1972. Vann supported his family as a commercial painter and painted many landmarks all along the east coast.
He is survived by his children, Aundrea (Jeremy), Henry (Stephanie) and Mercy; grandchildren, Jasmond, Rachael, Cody, Brooke, Alexander and Austin; great grandchildren, Jace, Grayson, and Zarah; brothers, Eddie (Cindy), and Scottie (Carrie); sister, Wanda; as well as a host of other relatives. He is also survived by his beloved companion of 15 years, Sam-I-Am.
Vann was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sherry; and grandson, Adrian.
The family thanks Riverside Hospice as well as a special thank you to Alma, Drema, Gina and Betty for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided their father in the last months of his life.
