Excuse dust at Deltaville and Urbanna libraries

by Carrie Dos Santos –

The Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) Board of Trustees and library staff are excited to announce some much-needed repairs at both branch libraries in the coming weeks. These repairs may occasion some inconveniences to the public, but the results will be worth it. The public’s patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

The Deltaville Branch library is experiencing some not-so-glamourous, but very necessary, repairs. Through the winter, roof repairs were made, and stucco repair is on the way, facilitated by Valencia Homes Inc. Repairs are also coming soon to the restrooms, courtesy of Miller’s Services. Looking towards the future, the Deltaville Branch library will be connecting to the new county water system, which will require some digging on library property.

The Urbanna Branch library is likewise in the process of having necessary repairs. Extensive roof repairs by DeShazo and Son Roofing will necessitate the closure of the Urbanna Branch on Friday, June 18.

Some new furniture is also appearing at the libraries, purchased with the public in mind…
